What to bring

One of the most commonly asked questions we get before a hunt is, "What do I need to bring?". This question can vary depending on the type of hunt you book and your personal preferences, however, there are some main necessities that we suggest you bring along for any hunt you book with us at EPO Lodge.

For the best hunting experience, we require you bring along the following:

Waterproof boots
Brush pants
Shell vest
Multiple layers of clothing
Comfortable clothes and slippers for lounging
At least a box of premium shotshells for each day of the hunt.
(4, 5, or 6 shot)

What to Expect

EPO is of a disappearing breed. We bring you to the birds vs the birds to you. Take some time and decipher the meaning of that statement. We pride ourselves in having the best leases with the highest natural bird numbers in the great state of South Dakota.

Join us, relax, and let us awe you time after time with the unbelievable flushes of Ringneck Pheasants that turn the sky black. It is very Extreme!

We travel and hunt off of a bus, the camaraderie of hunting and traveling to each of your hunting locations out of the bus is unmatched. Our leases range from just stepping outside of the lodge, to traveling up to 45 miles to put you on the best pocket of birds that we are aware of.

Mike and his wife Shanley run a successful insurance business in Madison SD, an hour or so east of the pheasant grounds.

Since the late 1990's Mike has been guiding and helping operate his in-laws operation www.echovalleyranch.com. Mike and Shanley started EPO in 2014 and look forward to hosting previous hunters along with the new ones!
